We read Faraway Fox by J. Thompson.  It’s a Surrey Schools Book of the Year Nominee.  We made Fox bookmarks and we learned about wildlife tunnels and bridges.

We we learned that everything has potential.  Clay has potential to become something great just like the broken branch in this book that was turned into a swing.

From a blob of clay to a piece of art!

Pictographs were used as a means of communication by several First Nations Peoples in Canada.  Here are some examples:

Terry Fox Run and Scholastic Book Fair were a success!

Thank you to everyone who donated to the Terry Fox Run.   Our school donated over $520 dollars to the Terry Fox Foundation.  We surpassed our school goal of $500!  Well done Cougar Creek.  We’re one more step closer to finding a cure for cancer.

We also made over $500 for our school library with the Scholastic Book Fair.  Thank you for attending the fair.  The money can be used to supply our library learning commons with books, furniture and technology!
